From a Gentle Pat to a Stronger Team

Lift your right arm, pat the back of the friend on the right and say ‘I will communicate better’.

With hands in the air and a smile on their faces, participants patted the person on their right. Each assured the person on their right and accepted the same assurance from the person on their left. The simple gesture communicated intention amongst colleagues and brought CEST a little closer to each other.

On the 24-25th November 2025, 15 members of the CEST headed to the base of Mount Gede-Pangrango and stepped away from the daily meets, routine coordinations, and even the away from the city. All in custom dark blue shirts, the team participated in ‘Building Synergy Through Aligned Relationship’, aa capacity building outing accustomed by Mindventure. Understanding that majority were fresh graduate or in their second or third job, the training was adjusted to the members, yet senior level no doubt learned more than an thing or two. Refreshing knowledge is always a good thing. Within 24 hours the team bonded through learning good communication, empathy, and the importance to reach a shared vision.

“Collaboration within an organization should not prioritize only the team we belong to, but embrace all teams as one unified organization.”
Immanuela Karina

The training ran though 12 hours of the day, with sit-down lectures, group discussions, and physical fun and games which all aimed to build a better team. Aside to building a connection, the training was also an opportunity to grasp the comprehension of the team of the organization itself.

Working through workshops, exercises, and discussion, the team also had time to enjoy the best of nature: the Sawer Waterfall, Situ Gunung Lake, and the camp site of Tanakita. Stepping out of our comfort zone, it was an experience both for the body and the bond; within the team and within oneself.

“I will try to apply several lessons from the training, especially those related to the 3Cs: Connection, Competency, and Character.”
Berlin My Angelita

Entering the new year, it’s time to go back to the drawing board—summarizing, formulating, and manifesting the lessons from the brief “retreat” at the foot of the mountain. There will be changes in the way we work and connect with each other in reaching the year’s missions.

“Change is inevitable. Therefore, the ability to deal with change is not just a competency, but a necessity.”
– Mindventure.

So, raise your left arm, pat the person on your left and say: Here’s to a new year!

Big thank you for Mindventure for the training session.
