First and foremost, we would like to say thank you to all that have contributed for Flores and Cici for organizing the distribution of support.
In August 2026, an earthquake of 7.7 M struck the communities of Nagakeo in Manggarai Barat, Flores Island, leaving many families facing damaged and destroyed homes. We specifically wanted to support Desa Kolang and Wewa, as it is the hometown of our associate on our current in Flores. Immediate assistance was collected during 19-24 August 2026 and published through our social media network.
Donations was raised to provide immediate support to affected residents. A total of Rp55,124,555 was collected, consisting of Rp15,124,555 from CEST and Rp40,000,000 from Ms. Yingsan.
The assessment recorded 89 homes with severe physical damage, while many families were forced to stay in self-built emergency tents.The majority of the fundswas provided directly to affected families through cash assistance. This approach gave recipients the flexibility to prioritize their most urgent needs, including emergency shelter materials, basic necessities, medicine, and nutritional needs for elderly and disabled residents.
The assistance was distributed according to the level of damage. Seven families whose homes were completely destroyed received Rp2,500,000 each; 12 families with heavily damaged homes received Rp1,500,000 each; and another 12 families whose homes sustained significant structural cracks received Rp1,000,000 each. An additional five vulnerable residents received Rp1,000,000 each as targeted assistance.
A further Rp2,624,555 covered field mobilization and operational expenses, enabling the team to reach the two remote villages despite challenging road conditions.
Beyond the financial support, the arrival of the donation team brought a sense that the affected communities were not facing the aftermath alone. The local governments and residents welcomed the team with gratitude, and the direct assistance helped restore hope while allowing families to take immediate steps toward recovery. Every contribution, regardless of its size, can become meaningful support for a family rebuilding after disaster.
